About the Unix Timestamp Converter
The Unix Timestamp Converter translates between Unix epoch timestamps (seconds or milliseconds since January 1, 1970 UTC) and human-readable dates and times. Supports all major timezones and displays the current timestamp in real time.
Unix timestamps are the standard way to represent a point in time in software systems — they're compact, timezone-agnostic, and trivially comparable (a later time is always a larger number). They appear in log files, database records, API responses, JWT tokens (iat, exp claims), and filesystem metadata. Converting them to a readable date is a constant need when debugging.
All conversion runs locally in your browser. The tool accepts both 10-digit (second-precision) and 13-digit (millisecond-precision) timestamps and auto-detects the format. The current timestamp auto-updates every second.
